IBBL (israel Beer Breweries Ltd.) is a brewery founded in 1992 as a partnership between Carlsberg Group and israel-based Central Bottling Company (CBC Group), headquartered in Ashkelon, israel. The company is israel's second-largest beer producer (market share ~40%) and forms a duopoly with Tempo Beer Industries in the israeli beer market. In 2008, Carlsberg sold its shares to CBC Group, completely withdrawing from the company. Today, IBBL is a 100%-owned subsidiary of CBC Group. CBC Group is an israel-based, privately held food and beverage holding company; it is not publicly traded and therefore does not have institutional shareholders such as BlackRock or Vanguard. CBC Group has been the israeli franchisee of Coca-Cola since 1968 and operates in the Atarot settlement industrial zone in occupied East Jerusalem. For this reason, CBC Group is on the BDS movement's official boycott list. IBBL falls under this boycott through its parent company.
