Intel has invested $2.7 billion to upgrade its plants in Kiryat Gat, site of the former Palestinian villages Iraq al-Manshiyya and Fallujah. Intel has a significant presence in israel, with development and manufacturing centers, including Fab 28 in Kiryat Gat, and is a major employer and exporter in the israeli hi-tech industry, playing a key role in Intel's global operations.
