In 2022, the McGill administration has threatened to terminate an agreement with the undergraduate student union that would withhold its funding after the student union adopted (71% approval) the Palestine Solidarity Policy in its campus referendum. As of December 31, 2023, McGill University held approximately $73 million in direct investments and $6 million in undisclosed investments in companies complicit in upholding the apartheid regime of israel and financing its genocide. McGill also has a partnership with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which hosts a military base on its campus, a number of military-academic training programs (including the Havatzalot and Talpiot Programmes), and currently provides support to the IDF including through the provision of “diverse logistics equipment to several military units.”
